Cleveland is wearing me down. In the worst way possible. Dealing with my uncles sudden illness and round the clock hospital stay has provided me with zero time to sleep, change clothes, shower or eat. Yesterday morning, my grandmother called my aunt and said that my uncle damon had severe stomach pains and had been admitted into the hospital. By four o’clock in the afternoon, he had already had two catscans, an MRI and x-ray. The radiologist then determined that his appendix had burst and that he needed emergency surgery to keep from dying. My uncle is my grandmother’s permanent caretaker and with him incapacitated my mother, my aunt and I suddenly had to take care of everything. Which turned out to be waaaaay more than we bargained for. I would make a list of all the things we did but its not worth it. The only interesting thing that I did was learn how to drive a stickshift on the fly. In the dark. On the highway. My aunt drives a stickshift volkswagon and I was the only person at the time who could drive out to Walgreens at 2 A.M to pick up my grandmother’s medicine. It would be an understatement to say that I was scared out of my mind. I only had five minutes of practice before I was forced to just leave and get it over with. Of course, I debated calling J.A. to help me but I doubted that he would have wanted to hear from me and he never answers his phone anyway.

Why can’t anything work out for more than five seconds?
